Lava flows coiled like snail shells have been found for the first time on Mars. Arizona State University graduate student Andrew Ryan spotted the spirals while studying possible interactions of lava flows and floods of water in the Elysium volcanic province of Mars. A Researcher has spotted lava flows shaped like coils of rope near the equator of Mars.
